The Third Day; August

My housemate got married. My pastor's wife gave birth to a lovely baby girl. I continue with my travels all over the country. God is Good. I got a temporary desire to re-grow my hair, then, the boyfriend and I had a discussion that changed that plan. God is Good. Liza, Mom and I did a visa interview as we look forward to going for Laura's graduation and the angel of the Lord prevailed despite a number of hurdles. God is Good. I am one month away from making the big 3-0 and on most days, lately, I feel like I am taken through a crash course on life to prepare me for the tasks ahead. God is Good. I was given a gift of a phone a week ago. First time ever, unexpected, unmerited. God is Good.

The Age of Enlightenment; the Third Day-July

In exactly two months, I will turn 30. That happens to be the same age at which Jesus started His ministry leading up to the cross... It is also the age Joseph entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt and his life began to turn around as God had promised. Thus, it follows that I am really looking forward to turning that page and discovering what great things are in store for me :)

The Tyranny of the Urgent- A very belated Third Day(June)

ur·gent    /ˈərjənt/ Adjective (of a state or situation) Requiring immediate action or attention.  I have been attending to urgent issues...work, travel, a budding love life, family time, a brand new nephew...et cetera. I find, though, that the state Urgent is tyrannical- there is no negotiation, I must deal with the government NOW , and on its own terms. I missed the 3rd day post last month as I was in Mbale sans electronics apart from my phone and in an, 'I couldn't be bothered mode'. My dearest galfriend got married on the 1st of June. The wedding was cosy, lots of laughter, a bit of rain, some dancing and good food. The name of Jesus was glorified. More pictures to come, my camera was not in a grand mood on that day so I only have one picture :( Rachel and her dad walking down the aisle I took a trip to London for a couple of weeks, experienced the English summer in all it's greyness :) and learned to give thanks more for the weather in my hom...

Attraversiamo!

So, he said, 'let's cross over' and even though I hesitated a tard, I said yes - that was three days ago. Now, I am waiting with bated breath to see what the Lord has in store for me and for us as a unit. I am humbled by the way things have been orchestrated and how despite my unfaithfulness to God on many occasions, He has remained faithful to make all things work out for my good as the Apostle Paul encouraged the Roman church :) "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed" Amos 3:3 :)

3 Things I Wish I Knew Before We Got Married -Tyler Ward www.tylerwardis.com

I used to think I had my stuff together. Then I got married. Marriage is great—but it rocked everything I knew. I quickly realized my basic goal in life, prior to getting married, was to simply remain undisturbed. This “disruption” came suddenly and was disguised as a 5-foot-nothing Swedish-Filipino woman. When I decided I’d rather not live without her, I proceeded to ask her to marry me—that is, to officially invite someone who wasn’t me to be in my personal space for the rest of my life. This decision introduced my most significant experiences and most challenging experiences—none of which I would trade for the world. However, I wish I’d had a bit more insight on the front end of our marriage to help me navigate it all. According to most research, more than 50 percent of people who say “I do” will not be sleeping in the same bed eight years from now. And though Scripture alludes to the fact that adultery and abuse may be reasons individuals might end a marriage, ...

All Kinds of Special (AKS) a.k.a Testimonies of God’s Realness

I have been experiencing all kinds of special since the year 2013 began. I should not be surprised because God did say that He will fulfill promises He had made to me in the past. Promises I had even forgotten about or thought He had deliberately refused to answer. He said it would be my year of as if postponed jubilee.  I realize, now, that I have erred in not recording these 'specialnesses' :)...So, from here on now, I will post on here, as often as I can, my All Kinds of Special (AKS) . Jesus said, ‘My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.’ (John 10:27) The most recent special I experienced was two mornings ago. My colleagues and I were en route to Buliisa from Hoima. We are on a work trip. The road is quite horrid but we were going at about 80kph. My eyes were closed but I was not asleep. I was praying silently…in tongues. A part of me was wondering why the unusual unction to pray that way at that time but another part of me was simpl...

The 3rd Day May... Stormy Kazi

I have been in the eye of a storm. Scratch that. In the very pupil :( During this storm, it came to my attention that my work, kazi , was becoming more important to me than it needed to be. My identity had began to be too tagged to how hard I could kufanya kazi . So, the storm came, and rocked my ship, and tore the sails I thought were sturdy. Like the disciples, I couldn't help but ask, Master! don't you care that I drown???!! (Mark 4:38). Like the Jehovah Shammah that He is, the God who is THERE, (Isaiah 48:35), He rebuked the storm and everything went still. I went back to jogging/walking every evening- again. I hope I remain consistent kubanga...kika! 'stolen' from Ms. Rachel Mugarura :) This morning I was blessed to experience a random act of kindness. I needed to make a phone call, having left my phone in the car that had ferried me to my visa appointment. I walked into a certain shop and explained my situation. A gentleman, whose name I did not eve...
